Results for Winestate Magazine’s annual World’s Greatest Shiraz Challenge have been released and we have come away with two incredible results, confirming we are certainly up there and competing against some of the World’s most famous Shiraz. More than 500 wines around the World were judged blind during a four-day period; see below our results and what the judges had to say about these two fabulous wines:
In Exile Barossa Valley Shiraz Cabernet 2011 – 5 STAR RATING
One judge described this wine as having, ‘Pepper and spice and everything nice.’ Lots of spicy oak on the nose with a refined and elegant palate that is still quite tight. Good length and texture.
Exile Barossa Valley Shiraz 2011 – 4 1/2 STAR RATING
A very attractive, very pretty wine with borderline cool region green touches to the spicy berry fruit characters and supported by some long and well-structured tannins.
