The Colonial Estate are ecstatic to announce our In Exile Barossa Shiraz Cabernet 2011 was awarded a regional trophy. Only 158 wines out of over 15,000 entries won a Regional Trophy – that’s just 1% of all wines entered which highlights what an amazing achievement this is for us!
The awards don’t stop there, so take a look below at the extensive range of our wines that were all awarded:
The Colonial Estate In Exile Barossa Shiraz Cabernet 2011 – TROPHY
“Lively and energetic, yet showing opulence, with the ripe dark berry and cherry fruit fully integrated with the oak. Attractive cedar notes, spice and lots of wood give a savory edge to balance the bright fruit, and there’s good structure, with round, velvety tannins. Harmonious, long and seamless.”
The Colonial Estate Exile Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 – SILVER
“Very ripe and complex. Full of black fruits alongside well integrated oak. A classic style with concentrated blackcurrant flavour and plenty of tannins. Fresh with a great finish.”
The Colonial Estate Mungo Park Barossa Shiraz 2011 – BRONZE
“Lovely nose with dark fruits and complex herb and savoury notes. Soft cocoa and tropical flavours with a pleasant flowering of blackcurrant and blackberry on the finish.”
The Colonial Estate Émigré Barossa GCS 2011 – BRONZE
“Sweet cherry nose with subtle spice, leather and liquorice followed by a creamy palate with lovely red berry and rhubarb ice cream characters. Clean and precise.”
The Colonial Estate Emissaire Eden Valley Riesling 2013 – SILVER
“A simply glorious nose with very pure fruit aromas alongside delicate orange blossom and fragrant jasmine and a touch of white pepper. A hint of saltiness with a beautiful lemon acidity on the palate.”
The Colonial Estate Explorateur Barossa Shiraz 2011 – COMMENDED
“Medium-bodied, meaty and dense in a glossy, spiced, plummy fruit style with underlying liquorice, herbs.”
