Introduction

Richard Lander is the stockier 'brother' to our other single vineyard Shiraz – Mungo Park. 100 year old vines are used, and this Greenock vineyard doesn't disappoint in producing a profound alternative.

The Winemaking

At dawn, the grapes are hand-picked, double sorted – firstly by bunch and then, after the destemmer, by grape. Fermentation, like our top wines, Exile and Émigré, is conducted in oak vats, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in 100 per cent new French Oak barrels.

Tasting Notes

Dense, dark crimson-red; a massively built full-bodied wine, flooded with black fruits, dark chocolate and licorice; very chewy, although ripe, tannins and new French Oak add their contributes.
